M-EKURDR, For Left-handed Freaks

If you count yourself among the left-handed minority, Elecom has got a product for you. Its new M-EKURDR mouse is ambidextrous, with a toggle switch that converts it from left to right hands.

OK, at first this mouse seems sort of ridiculous, but consider the niche real quick. There are a lot of left-handed couples who share a computer. With this mouse, they can easily flip back-and-forth between a mouse than accommodates both the rightie and the left-handed mutant. It’s a good idea, really.

  • You know, I’m one of those left-handed freaks, but I cannot stand to use my mouse with my left hand and it drives me crazy when people do. It actually works well to be able to write if I need to while my right hand is glued to my mouse. Saves time.

  • The cute Japanese instructions are a win in my book. But, couldn’t you just change the settings in the PC? On a side note, I worked with a guys once who used his mouse upside down. What a dork that guy was.

  • It seems to me that Laura is in the majority here. My g/f is left handed and I asked her why she never complains about having to use the mouse with her right hand and she said she doesn’t like using her left hand for the mouse.

I guess since 99% of computers are setup with the mouse in right-hand position, they just get used to it?

  • I’m another left-handed freak – and yes, I think we probably just got used to the setup while growing up.

I’ll admit that being able to mouse and write at the same time is rather handy (no pun intended)…

  • que no solo cambiaria el sentido de los botones? el derecho a izquierdo.
segun lo enteido yo los surdos solo cabiarian el sentido de los botones, no se sececitarian drivers, seria multiplataforma.

  • I usually use the mouse with my right hand anyway so I can write with my left hand. I’m surprised right handed people don’t use the mouse with their left hand, but I heard that right handed people don’t have any motor control in their left hand.
