  • Palm Treo 650 Rulz!!!
(said like “San Dimas High School football rules!”)
and once they update the OS…
you know, so it streams Flash and stuff.

  • Ryan: Unlikely now that they bought a perpetual license to Palm OS Garnet (ugh)

I guess this makes the Treo 650 I’m about to put on eBay a colletor’s item! I’m gonna be rich!!!

  • I guess I should sell the sprint 600 I still have in my closet before that goes to Zero value. I’ve had the 650 fora year now, with verichat (the best IM for Treo), google maps, the caltrain schedule, and Goodlinke realtime email it truly is indespensible. Although as I previously posted, it still reboots 10 times a day…. Although, I call it a feature as it keeps me from working all the time ;)

  • My girlfriend’s 650 sucks as well. She has to restart it a few times a day and she barely uses any of the features. Pretty much just the phone. A little email. But that’s it.

  • My Treo 650 only has a couple extra applications. TakePhone and ChatterEmail for productivity and Bike or Die for gaming. By far the best applications available for the phone. But, It doesn’t crash. It’s ROCK solid and fast. After trying out a Nokia e62, I’m going to stick with WM or Palm smartphones…

Seriously though, I think some executive somewhere deserved a pat on the back for the great life the Treo 650 had. Before the 650, the only viable choice a businessperson had was which model of Blackberry they wanted. Now there are many alternates (Blackberries, Q, Dash, Blackjack, 8125, Treo 700p/w, 680, etc.). The 650 truly revolutionized the market.

    Enjoy your retirement 650.

  • So these comments are all great. In full disclosure, I’m a Palm fan (I was a beta-tester for the original Pilot back in 96) and have my Treo tricked out (thus the glut of Palm coverage from Yours Truly). Thusly, I’m interested in what apps you guys run on your Treos.

I agree with Peter: the GoogleMaps app is AMAZING, I’m new to it, but it kicks much, much ass. And verichat is how I stay in touch with my editorial bosses when they need to tell me I’ve offended somebody on here.

Ezeikiel: does she have the latest firmware update? My Treo is pretty stable, I’ve decided it’s software from third-parties that cause problems, but they usually have how-tos to fix them. And dude, you have a girlfriend with a smartphone? SCORE! It’s ALL about nerd girlfriends. Trust me.

Ben: for gaming, I can def recommend Warfare Incorporated, Scrabble, and Yahtzee, all from Handmark. I’m a charter member of the
