We have a winner! Tricia popped up in our random drawing.
Bought a Zune? Need a case? Drop a comment under the post describing why you love your Zune SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much and we’ll send one lucky commenter a handsome Vaja Balance Zune case.
The case is really very nice. It’s made of thin leather and has a great feel to it, so you’ll be pleased. It comes with these little plastic inserts for changing the face color and will protect your Zune from jeers and haterage. Get cracking, Zuners!

Yes, I have a Zune, and I like it. I also own an 80gb iPod as well, but since I subscribe to the Zune marketplace, it tends to get used quite a bit more.
If Apple would let me subscribe to unlimited downloads, the Zune would probably lose favor but until then… ZUNE, ZUNE, ZUNE!

I have a Zune. A brown Zune and I love it. I love the fact that it has a distinct personality. I love the wallpaper which makes it MINE Zune. I love the subscription music which has totally revolutionized how I buy CDs. No more mistakes. All my recent purchase (3 CDs) has been spot on.
I love the fact that it syncs with my xBox. Zune also makes life easier. It lets me copy songs from the device to the computer. The marketplace lets me activate three computers (I have two activated).
I also love the fact that Zune is an underdog. That sooooo many people hate it because it challenges you know who. I also love the fact that it’s a baby right now and I will get to see it grow up and evolve.
And finally I love the fact that it bring about a choice.

Great post.
Yes I have one- I could not resist. How could you not give one of these a try after all the expections, hype, and rumors. I am not wild about it, but it’s better than I expected. At least I don’t have a brown one…

I have one too. I don’t know about Microsoft being an underdog in anything they do, but I was tired of my iPods breaking the day the warranty ran out so I figured I would give the Zune a try. It’s not that bad… but it would be better with a cool case.

I got my zune yesterday. The black one to be exact. Well its really more dark blue most the time, it only looks black in the dark. But I love it! I was worried about the album art looking bad, because of some reports, but all of mine turned out great. I’m probably going to pick up a vaja case even if I don’t get this, but its always nice to save $50.

I bought a Zune just to check it out and boy was I surprised. I didn’t expect to like it - but I LOVE it. The audio quality easily beats my iPods. But mostly what is best is the Zune Pass. I am a hog at the trough. I am trying out all kinds of music I never considered before. I couldn’t be happier with my Zune. Have’nt touched an iPod in a month!

i love my zune. i’ve used it almost every day with the zune pass actually and i find it a very nice music player and store. i really have been listening to lots of new music every day and its been lots of fun for me and the family. my 7 year old son has been watching movies and listening to new music on what he now calls “my Zoom” I need the case so we don’t mess up that pretty screen. the local Best Buy did not have any when in stock when we bought our Zune :)

Well, I have had them all. Ipod (which I enjoyed for a long time), but hate itunes, then the Vision M (which was my favorite of all time), but was disapointed with dependability. Reset after reset. Then my Zune, and I love it. Great look, great feel, and most important…quaility sound, and quailty video. That is why I buy a mp3 player in fact. The Vision M helped me to set a new standard above the ipod for sound and video quality, and the Zune has gone beyond even that. I also have the vehicle kit..works great, and the home kit, again works great with my home theater, and frankly, I can’t wait to see the evolution of this device from here forward. Gonna be something in six months after a firmware upgrade or two. So…if ya don’t have one…get one.

I love my Brown Zune, however, when I first saw the publicity photos for it I thought I would puke. The funny thing is that it really grows on you and as Zune as I got mine I fell for it immediately and not just because of its big/beautiful screen.
Recently, however, it has gotten very cold here in Michigan and I think my Zune is starting to come down with something (It might just be condensation but you never know) because it appears to be sweating in the cold. Please let me win and save a poor Zune from the freezing cold this winter.
Best wishes,
Kimmy

I got a Zune entirely for the fact that I’m in love with with the UI and being able to set my own background on the device. Everything else it does is great but there’s just something about the massive album art display and having my custom background on it while going through the menus that makes me happy.
I discovered that I really prefer the tactile buttons on my Zune as well. A scroll wheel is great for quickly moving through large lists but I find it lacking in preciseness. On my Zune the accelerated scrolling gets me in the ballpark just as fast and I can then adjust with discrete clicks up or down, a method I much prefer.

i have had 5 ipod amd they have all broken on me, now i have a zune and im lovin it. i use it for at least 5 hours everyday. and i kind of use an itunes zunemarketplace combination, because i listen to a lot of podcasts and zune does not support them. so i download the podcasts off of itunes and then it automaticly shows up on zune. hybrid marketplaces are the way of the future.

Crunch Crunch ate the lunch of the bunch and watched the hunch of the bald guy allard. Dismissed like a piss as an inferior audio bliss, but the Zune will find its way up.
I admit I admit! I own with no fit a creation so perfect to go with nice free vaja…
soooo ummm do i win?

I own a Zune. It’s only a few days old so I can’t say that I LOVE it yet, but the screen is quite good and the sound quality is good. I’ve yet to take it running though. A nice Vaja case would make me more willing to do so.

I don’t own a zune, and I don’t want the Vaja case.
I DO find it interesting that everyone seems to be interested in the subscription model for music stores. Maybe it’s just the general saviness of the readerbase, but I agree and wish Apple would make it work for the iPod…

I’m guilty… I have a Zune. I picked up a pair of them to test the sharing capability, etc. So far, I haven’t been very impressed. My colleague’s favorite part is the FM tuner. Mine was the magnetic bit on the headphones to help keep them from tangling in a pocket.

First impressions last. That’s all I can say about my new Zune - my very first owned PMP player device! I have the fresh brown color as it makes a new wave of style, another kind of generation, and indeed, I like it because it matches my race color as well =). It’s a brand new cool to hip in and out if somebody has that too!

I love my zune. It gives me a warm feeling knowing that one day they will overpower the ever so smug ipod. I love the fact that i can finally share something as special as music with my friends. The Zune is a true vision of beauty. Its personalizable background makes it a piece of me, and a piece of me it will remain. I LOVE MY BROWN ZUNE!!!

I love my black Zune! The sound quality is really great. I’m not using my iPod anymore. With a Vaja case the Zune also looks fantastic.
Already got a Vaja case! Make another reader happy :-)
Here’s a review of the Vaja case: http://www.cliczune.com/2006/12/zune_case_revie_1.html

It has got what i need. A big screen, FM tuner included, the music store is decent, software installation is not that difficult as others say, the look and feel of the product and the software is good. With a few more improvements mostly firmware it can improve a lot. I did not use the wireless functionaly, but atleast its there, certainly a good feature which none of the other brands have as of now.
I have been using Microsoft products everyday at home, at my office, ,and I did not see any reason not to buy this product.

After 3 pocket pcs and seeing the way MS improves over time and having two broken MP3 players to my credit, I had to have a Zune!! Wanted brown, but they only had black and no accessories. I’d love a great Vaja case, which I could never afford for my PPCs.

I have a Zune and use it all the time at work. Favorite parts: subscription based service and simple interface.

I bought a Zune. Heck, I preordered it. I love it. The bigger screen, same battery life, plus I like the OS better. The wireless is a great feature (maybe not fully useful yet, but updates happen) and teh FM radio is excellent. It has enough space for all the music and videos I need, plus it works with all my computers (on the first try…long story). It also was released witha bunch of great accessories (I hope to get for the holidays) and it is a great size for activites. Granted, it is a little lager than the iPod, but I feel that the pros outweigh the cons. I also like the fact that is is a Microsoft product (yes I am slightly a fan of Microsoft) and I haven’t had any, and I emphasize any, problems with it.

OK so it’s time for me to come out of the closet. I’m a “squirter”. I have a black Zune but I have been wearing white earbuds in fear somebody may recognize me. I hide in the shadows and in public laugh at all the Zune jokes. On the inside however, I know I’m on my way to the big social where I will be welcomed with open arms.

I got a zune on the first day, very excited about the hype. I must say that this thing is truely a dream. I have had no issues, and have even met up with a few zuners on campus. I look fwd to microsoft smaller flash base model. As for the marketplace, it is getting better everyday! I love the subscription model! The sound quality is wonderful too! FM tuner is really cool in the city where stations broadcast over the airwaves what song and artist is playing. Everyone will soon have one…trust me, ipod is so 2k3!

It seems like such a silly thing, but I really like the FM Tuner. Our main local news station here in Utah recently went from AM only to coexisting on FM so now I can get the local news at all times.
The larger screen also makes for some great movie (k, short videos) watching. And knowing that I’m not slave to ‘the man’ (ok, it is Microsoft, but in this market I’m an underdog fan)

I have a Zune, black. and it’s slick.
I love the big bright screen and the big album art that is displayed and being able to select items next to each other without first passing them by 10 times like ipod’s wheel.
I wish more people had it and didn’t listen to the media and tried it out themselves.

i have a zune. Black Looks great.
The screen is very bright, even on the lowest setting. In fact I had to turn it to lowest setting since it was a little too bright. Video playback is surprisingly good. Customizable background image is great.
The navigation I’ve grown to love, when you scroll quickly through your misc files it displays a large letter to show which part of the alphabet your in. I do miss the ipod scroll wheel which let navigate through options without needing to lift my finger.
The picture viewer is nice feature, but I wished it didn’t automatically switch to widescreen. The interesting thing is that if you apply an image to your background that image is scaled to fit in the normal viewing mode rather than widescreen, wish you could do that with just regular picture viewing.
Also I wish you could turn off the transition for slideshows. The longest it will stay on a picture is 30 seconds then you have to flip back to it.
I also own an ipod and can say that it is superior to it hardware wise. I still do not like the software used to sync files to the Zune. It is needlessly complicated to add files to the zune. You have to sync in order to add files and this goes and checks all the files in your library. Video format only supports wmv so naturally every video file I have needs to be converted.

After reading all the reviews, I thought it was going to be big and heavy (as some reviews would have to believe). Then when I went to look at one, I was actually surprised at how small and light it was. Yeah it is bigger than the iPod but not a lot.
So I picked one up and really like it. I love the all you can eat music. I also have a ton of movies encoded in wmv for my media center extenders so it naturally lends itself to easily load movies onto the Zune. The screen is crisp and bright. I have it all ready for my holiday travels.
