Apple’s 2G iPod Shuffle Can Take A Washing

We all know the real pen-test of electronics is how resistant to water they are. Apple’s second-generation iPod Shuffle is officially built-tough now that it’s handled a wash cycle thanks to a lad who left it in his pocket after a snowboarding trip.
At first he went to dock it on his computer and it wouldn’t work. After letting it dry out for a while (the key to getting stuff to work again), he was able to get the LED to come on and get it working again. Score one for the iPod. Did we mention that the Shuffle itself was barely even scratched up? Nice work Apple. We approve.

I’ve washed my flash drive… twice… & it went through the dryer once. :-) Still works!

the guy didn’t think to let it dry out, before testing it the first time?

Well, my 2g shuffle went through the wash, and it never came back on. Guess he was just lucky?

Cool! Now politicians’ wives can just use washing machines to clean up our music!
