I have a thinkpad T60p with an integrated antenna. I then downloaded the new access manager http://vzam.net/ specifically for Lenovo. It made a difference, and I also found out that if it says "Broadband Access" That's EVDO, and if it says connected to "National Access" that's the slowere 1xRTT.. Yesterday and today, I've been cruising at about 700kbps.. not bad.
