A apple phone with a 'itunes lite' music playing app, iCal/Address integration would be a TREO-killing app.

Damn teases from Crunchgear ... SPILL THE BEANZ, ALREADY. Sheesh.

I think that apple should come out with a combination phone/iPod shuffle--A phone that randomly dials anyone in the address book. They'd spin it saying it's more fun and will lead to chance encounters, when in fact it would mostly lead to you getting your mother-in-law on the phone 90% of the time and having to excuse yourself and hang up gracefully. We can call it the Phuffle.

I would like to believe that it will be released on Monday. I've heard about this miraculous device for 2 years it seems. I always love looking for the new apple rumor, it keeps me going. But, hey, let's be honest. I'll probably be disappointed Monday morning.

Looks like Apple may also be in the market for cellphone UIs and other software. I guess that kind of fits with what Brian Lam wrote "It isn't what I expected at all."

Either way, Apple is not releasing an actual Apple phone.

"Under the primary but broad classification, Apple said iPhone may also consist of "electronic handheld units for the wireless receipt and/or transmission of data that enable the user to keep track of or manage personal information."

Similarly, it may include "software for the redirection of messages, Internet e-mail, and/or other data to one or more electronic handheld devices from a data store on or associated with a personal computer or a server; and software for the synchronization of data between a remote station or device and a fixed or remote station or device."
