I can’t wait for this sort of thing to be integrated into electronics. Instead of 10 page manuals on how to hook up your new DVD player to your TV and your surround sound, just bring it home, plug it into the wall, and wait for it to discover the nearby devices.
People are already getting used to the idea of pairing bluetooth headsets with their phones. That’s the sort of paradigm that would be good to have with your home entertainment system.

It’s about freakin’ time. As long as there’s no loss in signal fidelity, then I’m all for this. If it can simplify the connection of surround sound speaker’s that’d be a big help too. Right now, there’s no wireless speaker solution that makes any kind of sense. Obviously, for my high end system, I’ll probably still go wired. But for the extra surround sound system I have, a wireless solution is a necessity.
This has great potential.

What will I do with all my zip ties? Hopefully they’ll put in some simple security on this because I would really hate to have my neighbors TV pick up my hardcore porn while their kids are watching Cars for the 492nd time.
But seriously, no matter how good this gets I’ll still keep everything wired, it’s much easier to troubleshoot problems and running wires is only hard for idiots and people without thumbs.

Maybe by the time this gets integrated into devices, I ll have enough money to start purchasing some of them and then my apartment could be pimp.
Now all we need is wireless electricity. I think its just a matter of time till that will be available via Inductive Power Sources through Electromagnetic Induction. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electromagnetic_induction). And then we’ll see the cancer rates skyrocket.

Great, now I will be able to replicate the Treo 680 + iPod fiasco with all my home electronics!
By the way Amit, there is such a thing as wireless electricity, it’s called a lightning bolt - I will let you try to figure out how to hook up a laptop to that ;-)

Man my laptop will be “shockingly” hot and “lighting” fast. Ok i am so sorry, bad joke. I wonder if we had enough of these chips in devices would there be interferences. Imagine watching cartoons and cutting into porn… or better yet imagine watching porn and cutting into cartoons!
