Why use this when you got mapquest.com (or .ca) at your disposal for free? Most routes, especially in the USA go north/south east/west direction anyhow… maybe I am one of those few special people who don’t need a machine to say “turn left in 3.. 2… 1… NOW” type of thing to navigate my way to and from places of mystery. I find GPS only fun when your flying a plane, otherwise… yet another useless device, mass marketing via hype to turn a “interesting” into a “I got to have it for Christmas to figure out where I am” type gift. If you get lost out in the wilderness… a compass and moss is all you need, if it’s winter and you are surrounded by pine trees… you can have a heck of a bond fire in no time… just need the marshmellows and some cocoa.

What am I doing wrong? When I go to the site the price I get is 80 Euro, which is $100. I want updated maps, but i’m not sure if they’re worth $100 every year.

I’m starting to think that people whom rely on navigation systems not only have no idea to get to where they’re going, but they honestly don’t know *where* they want to go. Points of interest? You mean you didn’t research what was around you before hand? Or even worse, you don’t know your own city? :P Mini rant aside, I can see why people would use it, but it seems like an exploring-crutch to me.

Well said Isaiah! How do you get to where you want to go when you don’t know where that is? Very easily ;-)
