Ben Heck is at it again, and this time he’s decided to go old school (I mean, really old school) and put together an Atari 2600 portable. The Nintendo DS-esque handheld lets you play those old Atari games that most of us have grown to love. Sure, maybe I wasn’t alive when Atari was big, but that doesn’t mean I can’t love it now, does it? Of course you’re gonna have to go and dig through some big boxes in the attic to find those cartridges you hid from your wife/mom so she wouldn’t sell them at the next garage sale, but that’s not such a big deal. It’s about that time of the year to brush up on your Frogger skills anyway. More pics after the jump, plus Nintendo DS-Lite comparison!

Nice idea about 10 years too late… where can you get these games today? Most are deep underground in a local landfill or recycles into plastic for your PS3 ;-)

Oh.. my.. god
This guy is the most incredible modder I’ve ever seen. All his stuff just keeps getting better and better, too; the PS2(P) was an incredible mod, then the Xbox360 laptop, which nearly halved the size of the console, and finally the portable N64. Any console this guy touches instantly turns to gold.
And it’s so tiny! The cartridge takes up most of the space! Where in the world does he put the actual electronics?
I love old school… Donkey Kong! Sometimes playing the old stuff makes you how much has gone into todays gaming machines and make you wonder what’s going to happen in another 20 years..
Maybe then Virtual Games really will exist.
Where can I buy a portable Atari 2600 or a Xbox laptop?
Spam really sucks( delete it
