Oh ezGear. We love your clever product names so much. Straight out of EZ-land come the new ezEars SX50 Headphones. These new earbud-style headphones come in either white or black and have three different ends so that they fit snugly in your ear canal for maximum performance. Plus, the price is pretty decent at only $19.98 a pair. Oh, and of course they’re designed with the iPod in mind, so you can count on seeing these at your local Apple store or Best Buy. Try a pair out next time you drunkenly step on your iPod earbuds and you’re strapped for cash!

These are a pretty good pair of earbuds. They have a pretty decent and crisp sound, which will be a great relief if you’re switching over from iPod headphones. They’re a pretty good fit in the ear, thus blocking out a lot of outside sound and ensuring clearer playback from your ipod/music player. Don’t expect huge thumping bass range, or crystal clear treble and midtones, but then again, how many of us today really listen that intently to the music players coming out of our iPods?
Definitely a great buy for 20 bucks!
I wonder if moving AWAY from the “signature white” that Apple has spent millions turning into a coolness factor will affect the sales of the black headphones.

These are canalphones a la Sennheiser CX300, V-moda Vibe, Sony EX70. Earbuds are a different animal – like your stock ipod buds.
Hi bpm2000, I heard that canalphones are worse then your ears then normal “earbuds” which themselves are worse then the regular “over the ear” headphones… as all the sound is directed right into the ear drum… sure you don’t need to put them as loud… but people will do it anyways.

Its not so much a measure of “are they worse” or not, but user control. I think canalphones/IEMs are actually “better” in this sense, since they block out a lot of ambient noise and you dont have to turn them on as loud. Earbuds leak a lot of sound so you have to push them to get louder.
Also, people seem to want a more visceral sound out of earbuds which isnt really possible, so canalphones/IEMs can provide that better since they seal more (check out the Shure line of IEMs).
