Reader Response: Festivus Week Concludes

It’s over! Seven days of tenacious commenting; seven days of you readers scrambling for a chance to win a Nikon D40 camera kit. We’ve already given away a bunch of SanDisk Cruzer flash drives as part of our Reader Response Festivus Week, but I imagine today is the day you’ve all been waiting for.
So who gets the D40?
Interesting turn of events, you see. While everyone commented significantly, one man stood out as the clear victor this week.
There was, however, a problem: he had been awarded something earlier in the week. What were we to do?

After much deliberation, we decided to approach him and see if he’d be willing to give up his flash drive so that he could win the D40. Not surprisingly, he hopped on the opportunity.
I’m speaking, of course, of Jon, who I am pleased to announce is the grand prize winner of our Festivus Week Reader Response. That raises another issue though. Who should the initial flash drive go to?
It was a tough call, but in the end we decided that Jon Lee, Jon’s doppleganger should receive the SanDisk Cruzer Micro.
Congratulations to all. I’ll email you for shipping addresses later today. Next week we have two sets of Ultimate Ears super.fi 3 studio headphones to give away in addition to four ifrogz gift cards. More information on that soon.
Big, big thanks to Nikon and SanDisk for contributing the prizes for this week’s Reader Response. And, above all, Happy Festivus!

Great! I feel like a virgin on prom night! ;-) I was so busy writing up the “advice” for That Canadian I forgot to refresh the home page!
First off, thank you Nikon for making the donation of the camera - I look forward to enjoying what your engineers have spent so much time developing and building. If you guys are looking for a great PR story… feel free to give me a shout (CrunchGear has my info).
Second, thanks to Crunchgear.com for awarding me the prize. I will put it to very good use and make all you guys proud. I will send off a note to the CrunchGear guys to let you know my experiences… it’s amazing to finally have a professional camera I can call mine! FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC! Don’t worry, I will be a regular on CrunchGear… will just lay off being a monster commentator. Time for a bath, food in my stomach and donation to the family throne.
Thank you all again,
Jon

My name is Ken. What do I win? :-D
In all seriousness, I’ve been reading you guys all week, not participating in the contest (I have a nice canon now, thank you) and I must say, the contest is a great idea to get people commenting, and it worked. I’ve read some great discussions, but on top of that I must say: you guys are doing a fan-fucking-tastic job. From what I gather, the site is reletively new, but I like the wry edge you guys use to cut up gadget reviews. More humor is good. I like what Matt and Vince have to say, and I love how they say it.
Keep it up, Crunch Gear!

Thanks NW guy… but luck had little to do with it… I simply posted still my fingers bled ;-) I will be moving to the tropics… so I should have some amazing photography to show off in about 2 months… but I will still be on this board to let you guys know.
Look forward to the next contest!

It bites that I didn’t win, but at least someone who was around as much/a little more than me did. XD It doesn’t soften the blow any, but at least the person who won wasn’t someone who came in at the last minute.
Congrats. :D
