Python XM Bianco Laptop Bag Looks Good, Can Play Rough

Behold one of the coolest laptop backpacks we’ve seen in awhile: The Python XM Bianco form Booqbags. Although extremely pricey at $179.99, this bag has tons of pockets, holders, and can protect your laptop in extreme conditions. The website says it can hold a Macbook, 15-inch Powerbook, 17-inch Powerbook, Macbook Pro, and a 17-inch Macbook Pro.We’re pretty sure it’ll hold other non-Apple laptops of the same dimensions as well.

The Python is also made out of ultra-durable materials and has a basllistic nylon exterior with a stunning dark brown interior. Python also claims you can can use the bag for hundreds of other uses. Sounds good to me. It even comes with a 5-year warranty. Better act fast if you like what you see though. Only 250 are available and they’re going to go fast.

  • Nothing to complain about… other then a great walking advertisement that you have a laptop (and other gadgets) of value… I prefer to stick with putting things of high value inside of bags of very low perceivable value… don’t need to worry so much about it being ripped off your shoulders along with all your valuables, especially when traveling abroad. This is why I will be putting my new laptop in my old 15 year old army bag (laptop bag fits in it no problem).

  • My problem with so many of these fancy bags is that I REALLY need to see them in person before I lay down the cash. I want to be able to put my laptop inside, give it a feel, walk about the store a bit, etc.

Anyhow know any great stores that have these and other great bags actually on hand?

  • Can dark brown be stunning? I like brown (its like my second favorite color or something) but it doesn’t say “High tech” to me. Though the exterior of this bag sure does. Its like Jetson’s outside and Brady Bunch in.

I do agree with Jon, though, that this bag blurts “I’ve got some serious tech gear up in here.” I tend to use my plain black back pack or the army green shoulder bag I was “given” at the Adobe Max conference. At the conference it said, “Hey, I’ve likely got a Mac in here.” But everywhere else in the world its just an army green bag.

This is one case where the shinyest, techyest looking is prolly not the best buy.

  • I looked into bags at the beginning of this year. I spent a load of tme researching. I’m afraid to say I actuallu bought a BOOQ bag sight unseen (mistake). The quaility was not good at all – it just felt cheap and not worthy of the price.

So, onto a Tom Bihn bag – they are made in the US, have wonderful features and scream quality (identical material to the excellent TUMI bags. Tom Bihn, highyly recommended!

  • I have a booq bag myself, have had one for a year. I have their other limited bag which I believe its called the boa. I can attest that its a very well made bag very thick material and just plain looks nice. But the boa was a little too small for my needs. Its great for a few books and your powerbook or laptop, I have a 17″. But I just need one thats a little bit bigger to fit everything I want in it: clothes, books, cds, electronics, accessories…etc. If you dont like the look of the limited series which I think is pretty cool, they also have black ones. If youre worried about quality, you wont be disappointed. I plan to pick up a limited one to upgrade my current bag.
