If I had this commercial growing up I probably would have drank more milk. Hell just watching this makes me want a glass.

Milk Gooood [Tokyo Mango]

  • Ahhhh… the Japanese always have the most sexist (and nice) commercials… unless you have been there yourself, you have no idea how much men run the place – they have a very interesting culture to say the least. The one thing that got me was the size of their urinals… they are like thrones… considering they are relatively small people to begin with, I was astonished when you compared to what we got here in North America!

  • I’m tongue tied; any comments on this are probably not fair for this site…but it does appear to be milk and cookie time about now….

  • Wow. Just wow.

I’m not sure if that’s a good wow or a bad wow. Take it how you will.

  • And the weird part is that people drink cow milk. And goat milk. Thats really weird – think about it.

  • bpm2000, we drink other animals milk because we don’t have a choice… the better half of our species would never allow what happened in that video to realize itself outside of the dreamworld. I prefer my milk in the soya variety anyhow… tastes better… although, if I did have a choice… (back to dreamworld)

  • Not to gross anyone out but back in College my friend told me about how much mucous, puss, blood, grossness in general is allowed in milk that is passed onto the consumer. Apparently organic milk doesn’t allow any of this but who knows. Just an interesting little factoid I wanted to share.

  • You know, it kind of makes you wonder what the first person who drank cow milk was thinking.

I’m going to squeeze those things and drink whatever comes out.

That, good people, was a braver man than I.

  • How about this? Ever wonder why we’re the only one’s that still drink milk in the Animal Kingdom? All the other amminals stop drinking milk after a certain age but we still do. Calcium shalcium, there’s tablets for that.

  • Peter, we drink milk because we are brainwashed into thinking it’s good for us… it does have some good things in there but nothing that a good diet couldn’t replace. Milk for calcium? That is BS… where do the cows get their calcium from? You guessed it… the green stuff that grows out of the ground… which you can also buy plenty of – it’s called vegetables and fruit ;-)

The marketing machine behind dairy is HUGE, to the point that what we are told isn’t even questioned anymore… I prefer soya milk and water… carrot juice is fantastic with oranges too… kills any other drink you can get, just a bit messy to clean up after, also don’t need to worry about puss neither ;-)

That being said… (back to dreamworld)

  • I think maybe the reason we drink milk is because it’s sort of like a comfort food to us. The same way that meatloaf makes us feel right at home I think that milk just makes us feel comfortable.

Plus as Jon said, it’s pretty much shoved down our throats that you’re supposed to have so much dairy every day, the Food Pyramid anyone?

Anyway, maybe we just like drinking something that came out of….

    Ah, nevermind.

  • Oh my, these comments are so amusing. You see, I can’t actually watch the video right now as ye ole company proxy server blocks access to YouTube. So alas, no Japanese commercial fun for me until after work…. In a way, however, I think the comments were MUCH more interesting without having been see the video.

As for all the milk comments, it is interesting that we as a species chooses to drink the milk of another animal. I do very much, however, enjoy a great big glass of whole milk. Yum yum yum…. :)

I ask you all, what’s your favorite “I can’t believe we eat/drink this” food or beverage? Mine is sea urchin….

  • we certianly DO have a choice Jon – drink something else!

  • Ok, I’ve gotta ask, what are they actually selling? Cow milk or human milk????
