Microsoft has all the cash in the world and you’re telling me they couldn’t hire a better guy in PR and Advertisement? Whatevs Microsoft. Your Windows 95 commercial is seriously lacking some hot 1990s-esque footage.

So many places to go with this post -
Is the commercial really that bad (remember it was made over 10 years ago and a lot of concepts don’t age well)
Or is it the product?
Do you really think this is worse than telling all of your customers that they are dinasours and should get newer technology? Won’t mention the company (cough..Msf…cough) that did that in a large print media campaign.
I kind of like it.
I thought I was watching a Sesame Street segment…

Yea I think it is good too. Crunchgear is notoriously anti-MS. You have to take their posts with a grain of salt. I mean they fell hook line and sinker for the Vista ’security flaw’ story a couple of days ago.
Don’t be frumpin on the CG boys. The Vista flaw was released to MSFT, commented on by Symantec, and the story was carried eventually in the NYTimes, Seattle Times, and numerous other papers.
Yes, they may be minor security flaws but if you announce yourself as the impenetrable king of the hill any chink in the armor is noticed.
Keep going CrunchGear.
Oooo the NY Times carried it! And numerous other papers? It must be true.
The attacker must already have *authenticated* access to the target system to gain access through this ‘flaw’. Yea I guess your “minor” adjective pretty much sums it up. And please point me to this ‘impenetrable king of the hill” statement by MSFT? I’d like to read up on that.
Try again when you have some facts.
You guys are obviously forgetting that old Dykesknowsoft commercial where the woman did that thing with the thing. You know the one.
Oh my, if we could only bring up the IT commercial hall of fame / shame. How about that old famous anti-IBM Apple commercial from years ago? You know the one…….
And I think the current anti-Windows Apple commercials right now are great. Now, I’ll still probably buy a windows laptop over a mac. But I still love the commercials…..
