Okay, so maybe it’s no big shock that the most wished for electronic in 2006 was an Apple 30GB iPod 5th Gen in black. (Zune wha?) The surprise came in the computer-and-video-games field with the Nintendo Wii taking top honors. (Sorry Sony!) The Sims 2: Open for Business expansion pack took top software and another strange bit was the Philips Norelco BG2020 Men’s Bodygroom coming in most wished for in the personal care category. (You people wished for some weird sh*t this year.)
The iPod love continued with the Apple 30GB iPod most frequently purchased as a gift in electronics. The Xbox 360 Console (20GB) and Microsoft Flight Simulator X Deluxe DVD made the list as well.

There are about three things on that list I wouldn’t mind having. As for the rest, I can’t see giving it a second look, nevermind actually buying it. :)
Neat list. It’s nice to see a bit of the huge pile of data that Amazon must have behind all the surfing, purchasing, wishlisting, etc, that goes on on their site…
Amazon’s sales have been going up and up. But that list is pretty accurate…the Zune didn’t even place. Haha, that Zune with the porn, oh man.
If all Zunes came preloaded with porn it would probably have made the list. It still would not have toppled the iPod, but it may have at least made the honorable mentions.

As of right now if you click on best sellers, electronics and narrow the search to mp3 players, some iteration of iPod ends up taking 6 of the top 10 spots. Fairly accurate to iPods domination in that space. And, interstingly, SanDisk takes 3 of the top 10. They are a little quieter about it, but seem to be fairing well in the “orchard.”
I wonder what the wish list is going to look like after Steve’s January shindig.

Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. The blows just keep coming Sony, I feel for ya!
Oh Nintendo, a boon year for you guys after that release called the GameCube. DS Lite and the Wii!
And to CrunchGear: any of you guys own a DS Lite? Maybe we could get our game on some time. Or if any of you guys play StarCraft, that too!
In 2006 I became HUGE fan of Amazon. I paid for the $75 Amazon prime which gets me free 2 day shipping on almost every item they sell. Their prices are as good as anyone online, and the reviews I find there are pretty good and really helps guiding me in making the right decisions.
My wishlist on Amazon was the Garmin Nuvi :)
