  • As per the associated image file, SYNC was a ZD enterprise — one killed prematurely to pretty up the financials of said gutted publisher.

SYNC was a fine mag, as far as tech/shopping mags for dudes go — and a blast to be a part of. Sure, blogs and Circuits make monthly books with two-to-four month lead times seem outdated (in more ways than one), but there is something satisfying about flipping through glossy pages of product porn.

Best of luck to the CSB folks to be bought by far-sighted investors who’ll make the most of the remaining talent at ZD.

  • Hmm….may be Google will try their hand in the magazine business…

  • Please don’t give us images of skanky little bloggers in their pajamas…… That’s just more then we need to think about…. :D

  • Good. I received a years worth of PC Magazine for free after I placed an order at Newegg. I think there are more full page ads then there is content, and what content there is, is probably the worst I’ve ever seen printed. I’ll take my bloggers in pajamas over PC Mag any day. Hopefully by selling off the branch, some changes will come.

  • When isn’t Ziff-Davis for sale? Cnet bought a huge chunk of the company back in the .com era. They don’t even own the rights to ZDnet anymore.

First Gamespot and now 1up. Its kinda sad, does the company even own anything else?
