what does everyone think the first sales price will be? better yet, how much more will it have to come down before people will buy it?
I’ve heard many people talking about PS3 returns. I could imagine more than 10% are being returned at this point – anyone have any more info?
I’d consider buying a PS3 (HDMI version) today for $400 – not 600, but my guess is no price drop until after the summer.

The cost of production is expensive enough as it is, blu-ray is not clearly winning the battle yet and Sony didn’t have a good start.
It’s true that lowering console price will increase market share, but winning those market share from the relatively low price of xbox360 will be tough, and there’s no way they could drop to xbox360 price point in the near future. The technology is still too new.
Don’t want one. Tell me where I can get a Wii.

mathew, agreed, I want a Wii. PS3 games are just too expensive as it is, although the dvd player might be something I get the PS3 for.
