Airport security will always be an issue; maybe they should have a geek on call at major checkpoints to help identify usable technology. Of course a government geek only has two options - military that thinks your eyeglasses are actually ear-mounted lasers or the beauracrat that thinks leading edge tech is carrying a mag tape instead of a deck of punched cards (put that in their for Paul T' pleasure ;) ) Leather is better? Apparently airport officials thought it looked too much like a snap-out knife that was dangling from his key-chain as he grabbed it from the container after going through the security check-point. Eventually they let him go with it, but not after looking at it with three people to figure out if somehow this USB stick would transform into a deadly leather-wrapped weapon.
