  • Okay I really don’t know how you can point out Bruce (which is the name of this grill-invention as I gathered from the German website) without pointing out all the other crazy.. errm.. ingenius inventions he has to offer!

    First of all, just to clarify that, the actual invention in this balcony grill is that the bottom part is a (for Germany) standard balcony flower holder, probably laminated with some fire and heat resistant material.

    But there is also:
    - Lumir, the lamp that sticks to your window so you can have light inside and out (another balcony improvement);
    - Thekla, the tablet that doubles as a table cloth when put on the table, since it unfolds into a flat surface;
    - Erika, the first self-cleaning kitchen in the world. However, I was unable to figure out from the description how exactly this thing cleans itself. But you should check out the photo, it looks quite adventurous, like the result of your tool-box having sex with the kitchen cabinett…
    - Linda Luchs (those names are cracking me up, sounds like something Ikea would come up with), the bulb wrapper that doubles as a lamp shade (seriously, I’m not making this up!)

    And I’ll leave it to you to go check out the rest. You don’t have to understand German for it, just look at the photos provided with the link :-)

  • Hey! That’s the view from my roof! I want one of those too, to replace my little hibachi that’s in pieces from the last storm. :)

  • I wouldn’t want to be the guy walking on the sidewalk next to this place, having hot grease from 10 floors up can’t be a good thing when it falls on your head.

  • My first thought when I looked at the picture was a bird attack from the movie birds by alfred hitchcock.

  • I hadn’t realzied the war in Iraq had spread our military resources so thin here in the states…we are having to use old biplanes to attack Godizlla!
