Are the AVs meant to replace the DX4 and Studio Pro monitors? In other words, is M-Audio phasing out the DX4 and Studio Pro to make way for the AV series?

(Cue Homer Simpson Sound, "ahhhhhhhghhghhh")

That would be excellent for monitoring Reason for writing loops and whatnot. I'll be keeping tabs on this'n.

Hey Lp,

If I recall, when I was checking them out, they connect via some cable and then one is the master speaker with the power, 3.5mm out, etc.

And of course you're cheap. All musicians (myself included) are! ;)

I reccomend if you're on a budget, you pick up the AV30s. The extra $30 goes a long way and you get extra ports on the front for headphones and line out.

Question: how do the speakers connect to one another? Do you run the 3.5mm out to one speaker and then slave the other?

I'm interested. I'm a musician... and I'm cheap (so constrained by budget).
