Ahh it's all making sense now. I hope that even though this is proprietary tech, Kleer makes a killing on the market, because bluetooth is so great yet limited in it's application. I don't know why any other manufacturers haven't tried radio freq (besides quality loss), but I guess the restraining feature was the chipset.

Go go Kleer wireless ear buds go!

Sorry. I was rushed earlier and forgot to mention a few things. The chipset is a proprietary thing. The power consumption is stellar. Kleer is using two types of batteries, one gets five hours and one gets 10 hours. Also, if manufacturers who license the technology choose to, a wire can be connected between the buds, which would eliminate the need for a receiver in each bud—that'd extend battery life a lot as well.

This is a technology that needs to be adopted quickly. It's vastly superior to Bluetooth for audio transmission and I hope it's picked up by lots of developers.

This is the kind of technology that gets my hard earned $. I would gladly be an early adopter for something like this!

Jon,

I'm familiar with the Kleer technology. Their power consumption is around one tenth of comparable Bluetooth, and the magic is in their chipset...
My kids are already bugging me for them...

SWEEET WIRELESS EARBUDS!!!

CES is so awesome, score me a set of those (prototypes) CrunchGear!

Techboy excitedness aside, power concerns on earbuds? the chipset technology? Looks like a series of pretty big gaps...
