Bloops: Cisco Sues Apple
by John Biggs on January 10, 2007

Some interesting news out of Cisco today:

Cisco today announced that it has filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California against Apple, Inc., seeking to prevent Apple from infringing upon and deliberately copying and using Cisco’s registered iPhone trademark.

Will it effect the Cupertino giant? Absolutely not. But it makes for a nice downtick in Apple’s stock price.

  • You would think that the legal wonks at Apple would have worked this out with Cisco (to buy the iPhone trademark) BEFORE launching that overpriced bloated music thingy (what is it? oh yeah! A PHONE!). Did Apple really think Cisco wouldn’t notice or not care?
