Recycle Your Cellphone With ReCellular

The next time you go to chuck that old cellphone you no longer use in the trash, stop and think about using ReCellular. ReCellular lets you send in your old phone (shipping is free via prepaid postage) and based on its condition, it’ll give you credit you can use towards Best Buy online. They also resell or donate old phones to charity and fix them up before they go out. Even if your phone is in a state of disrepair, ReCellular will dispose of it properly or try to get some charity money out of it. Good stuff.
You can visit http://www.recellulartradein.com/bestbuy/home/ to trade yours in today.

Thanks so much for this link, I’ve been looking for a good way to recycle my old phones!

Another approach is at Office Depot (or Office Max; always get them confused). At the front of the stores there is a tall cylinder that you can drop your cell phone into. It appears to be a popular program, or they just never empty it out ;)
And this was even before Dell announced their recycle program!

This is true NW Guy but at least this way you get some $ out of it. Not to sound greedy or anything but why not…right?
