Last night Warner Brothers showed off their new Total Hi Def Disc at a special conference.
They showed a clip from the movie Superman Returns on HD-DVD, Blu Ray Disc, and Total HD. They all looked the same, they all looked great, and Total HD is just another format we don’t need. Move along folks, nothing to see here.

You do realize that Total HD is just a combination of Blu-ray and HD-DVD, right? And that is a Good Thing.
Who cares about the format wars when there is a combination disc that’ll play in either an HD-DVD or Blu-ray drive?
If enough companies adopt this disc (which really ISN’T a new format at all), then I will finally get on the HD bandwagon.

Came here to say the same thing. On the contrary, I think there is a lot to see here.

We still can’t get a real successor to the CD. Are they still making DualDisc?
Super Audio CD at least had a transparent layer to make it work on SACD players and regular players without anyone really noticing.
