Pioneer Shallow Subwoofer

Pioneer’s TS-SW2541D is going where few subwoofers have gone before: into shallow spaces. The woofer requires a depth of just 3-inches to produce full-sounding bass.

That means that it doesn’t require a giant enclosure to sound right. It also means that it can be situated in spaces previously unavailable to subs.

So, considering its $180 price tag, expect to see cars completely filled with these things in the near future. It’ll happen.

  • A few years ago Kicker made a square sub that sat really shallow, but I don’t think it was even this low.
I’ve gotten over the high end car stereo stuff but this is pretty cool, but I’d kind of like to have a higher RMS then 50-250.

  • with a motor structure that shallow i doubt itll handle much more than 50-250. These are just for in-panel instalations probably that wont require separate boxes cluttering up your ride.

  • This is pretty cool. It really opens up the ability for almost anyone to get kicking bass without taking over their trunk.

  • It’s a great sub for those of us with a supercrew pick up that doesn’t have room under the seat. At least now I have hope of putting BASS back into my truck, replacing what I lost when I traded my explorer.
