Windows Anytime Upgrade lets upgrade Windows Vista to a higher-grade edition through an online transaction, which is handy if you bought Basic and then decide you want Windows Vista Ultimate. It’ll be accessible in the Start menu.

Microsoft will make Windows Vista and the 2007 Microsoft Office release available for direct download via Windows Marketplace, too, in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions.

And if you’ve got multiple PCs you’re upgrading to Vista in your home, head here and for a limited time (January 30 through June 30) anyone who buys retail copies of Vista Ultimate (North American customers only. Sorry Venezuela!) can license two additional copies of Windows Vista Home Premium at $49.99 each.
