WiMax Moving Along Nicely
by Blake Robinson on January 19, 2007

DSL Reports is running a piece that finds Sprint’s WiMax system is progressing splendidly. It reports that the 4G network will be rolled out in Chicago and DC in early 2008 and should enable users with speeds around 2 – 4Mbps. What’s more, it will purportedly cost just $55 a month and will support an open access system. That means you’d be able to hook it up to a router in your house and allow multiple systems to share the link.

I’ve said it before, but I really see mobile broadband taking over in the future. We’re seeing people use cell phones as their primary phones and completely foregoing landlines. Couple that with the convenience a mobile broadband connection allows and it’s really a no-brainer.
