Hm, how can I say this without sounding like a racist.. if you happen to be in a larger American city, let’s say on the West coast, and you happen to go to one of those markets where you would find mostly individuals of Southern American or Asian origin, then chances are pretty high that guy who has a box with his “personal DVD and Software collection” sitting under his produce cart will sell you the exact same box for just a couple of bucks more.
Actually I’m amazed to see how well organized the production and distribution of pirated software and CDs are. Especially for DVDs it usually takes a couple of days from the initial release on the internet until the guy who always waits outside the Chinese fast-food restaurant has a pressed DVD with professional label and cover of it. I think they are mass-produced in China and then shipped over, and I’m pretty sure to make that possible not only the Chinese government is looking the other way…
