Personal Rail Service Concepts

Perhaps you live in a city with some abandoned trolley tracks near you. Or perhaps, you live in a suburban home near abandoned rail-road tracks. Either way, these concept ideas for personal rail transportation are genius. Imagine being able to take a ride down a set of tracks all by yourself.

Some of the concepts are motorized, but others (such as the unique surfboard model) rely on old-fashioned skateboarding moves to keep you going. It’d be great to see this kind of stuff implemented in an underground fashion so that people start building rail-transit clubs and meetings. What are you waiting for? Take back the streets!

  • Think – No cars.
    Then what?
    Personal rail systems.
click or enter your destination and let the personal rail system take you there.
Oh yeah, there would be no stopping, or accidents and we might as well incorporate a new electrical grid into the system.
Trouble is there wouldn’t be a need for an auto insurance industry, gas station industry, car repair industry, emergency medical vehicles, road maps, and what would architecs do with all thatfreed up land. City planners would have to throw out zoning laws and civil liberties groups would have new concerns. Security would be too easy. Only those with permission would have access to your address!
