I’m not saying they are doing so out of the goodness of thier own hearts. They obviously have something to gain. The theiphonelottery.com site is obvioulsy trying to sell advertising. To do this you need traffic so they are giving away iPhones to get it. If it works, I believe they will make much more than they spend on prizes, but the cost to contestants is… nothing, FREE.
The freeiphone.ca is not as clear but I suspect that they too are fishing for traffic to sell advertising. That is what the internet is based on, ad dollars. Not everyone is out to scam people. Most legitimate sites offer some kind of free content, a hook to get hits, then they pay the bills by selling advertising.
These ad dollars are a great thing because they allow many sites to continue to offer free content. Without the internet’s advertising engine, the only content on the net would be ecommerce sites and a bunch of blogs written by self righteous idiots who have nothing better to do than to throw thier opinions onto the information super highway, like myself… and “Anonymous”
