Windows on a Mac changes everything [CNN Money]

  • Its a good read…caught it yesterday. These solutions are not going to make Steve Jobs very happy. But it could lead to some fundamental shifts in the marketplace, especially with users that may never have considered switching before. And therefore, introducing the OS to these users may lead to incremental sales of Mac hardware in the future.

I find the “I’m A Mac” commercials rather funny and interesting from the approach that you can now run Windows on Mac hardware. It seems these commercials are intent to slight Microsoft, but in reality, the commercials are only growing Windows O/S marketshare and slighting the PC manufacturers like Dell, HP and Gateway. The Mac OS is great and I would love it more if I could get it on more cost-friendly hardware and hardware not made with acrylic plastic.

    Here’s to virtualization in 2007!

  • Amen to all your points.

One thing to point out here folks is the inherent difficulty in getting OSX running on NON-Intel based CPUs…like the lovely offerings from AMD. I failed miserably getting the OS installed on my AMD-based laptop, though I got it working on an intel based desktop. Loving every minute.

    Cheers

  • Hummmm….. How do i do this again ??
I would Looove to try this to see how it
    stacks up against Vista.
