$$Millions of brand equity down the drain?? Jeff Hawkins must be out having a 15 martini lunch over this type of stupidity. Like getting rid of Handspring wasn’t enough stupidity?

Those Bay area boys must be WAY smarter than us to understand how changing names so often will help them make money.

It’s hard enough to find a Treo without that ^$#%@&*%#!@$ (MS) operating system on it; now the other system won’t even be recognizeable!!

Stop the insanity….

Oh for the good ol’ days of the mid-90s, when Palm was Palm, owned the OS, made the best hardware, trailblazed the industry, and employed a TAP-COUNTER…

What was a “tap counter?” A tap counter was guy who counted how many taps with the stylus were necessary to complete a given operation, such as entering a new appointment. The fewer taps the better. He critiqued the design of apps and made UI improvement suggestions to streamline it.

No way in hell does Microsoft employ a tap-counter, considering the way I’m constantly stabbing away, holding down and popping up in some places, menu’ing in others. And if they do employ him, he’s clearly not worth his salary.

I’m getting nostalgic for the old Palm I guess it all went wrong when the founders broke off to form Handspring.

I wish Palm had kept their focus, and continued to make their own OS, like Apple does with MacBooks and OS X.

Garnet

I can’t imagine if the Garnet OS will stick over Palm OS.
