  • Who is responsible for content on the internet? The provider or the user, I guess the choice has been made – don’t blame the ISPs, don’t blame the content providers… blame the individual who is breaking copyright laws, I wouldn’t be surprised if YouTube washed its hands of this whole ordeal and provided the info – why not, it sets a precedent and finally resolved an ongoing issue with YouTube regarding legal matters (ei: we aren’t responsible for content on our site, the users uploading stuff are). I would expect YouTube membership to tank as a result and the billionaire founders to retire somewhere nice – knowing they screwed google into overpaying for their site and the users for providing content as without neither party, they are NOTHING.
