"As I write these words her majesty, the Vista, is installing herself on my PC, grinding away at my RAID like a champ."

Now that you've had 2 weeks to take it for a drive, has your opinion changed? I agree that the new paint job looks nice, but does the engine under the hood run like a champ, or have you found that when they rebuilt this motor they forgot to include the parts needed to keep it running?

It always amazes the zeal and obstentiousness of those who hate Microsoft and its products. It reminds me of the left and right political hacks out there that can never recognize that either side may have done something right, even if just once in a while. Microsoft and Apple both have the same purpose, to make money. Nothing more, nothing less. Both organizations also give literally millions of dollars to philanthropic causes, and should be appreciated for what they provide... products. It's our choice, to spend our hard earned money where we want and how we choose. Apple or Windows?

I love Macs, I use Windows because of business requirements and I can recognize that they both have their position in the computer world. I enjoyed the article and its approach without blinders. It provides readers with a story and opinion, instead of anger and juvenile loyalty. I for one will probably upgrade to enjoy Mac like features on a windows machine.

Which normal user runs a pc with "gigabytes of memory"?

Which normal user is going to spend the astonishingly greedy prices and buy anything but the most basic, cut-down, version of Vista?
