I agree stick to the software. I have a Zune though and I actually prefer it to the IPOD. I hate that damn scroll wheel with a passion, and i love the D-pad feel ^-^ reminds me of old nintendo!

This is rediculous. Predictable but rediculous. Lets just hope that it wipes the iPhone off the map or we'll never hear the end of it from those damn iFreaks. iThis, iThat, iHate freakin Apple. Microsoft though has a tendency to do a half ass job at making something someone already has. The XBOX for instance was cool and all, but it still doesn't match the power and the ease of PS3. If you think PS3 is too difficult to navigate, you're smokin crack. XBOX is just not nearly as fun as playstation. The zune was a fair dissapointment as well. What next? Microsoft branded Computers? God help us all if we end up in a Mac v. Microsoft war where they're the only two left worth paying attention too. Neither should be making hardware, stick to the programs, they're not that bad.

Microsoft is many companies combined. They improve on other people's stuff. Before they came out with x-box, they hired someone from sega. before MSN, they purchased uninet (I think I got the name wrong). before even Windows, they took/borrowed IBM DOS. Its not an original company, mainly because it never has been an original company. A few months ago, Microsoft purchased a company that makes phones. it seems only natural that they start to make phones as well. I think that the Zune Phone will be great. For those of you that have ever had a Zune, although the main selling point is the wireless connectivity, there are other points to appreciate. The reason people love their iPods is because of the shape and feel. If you take that and add one thing to it, say something like wireless connectivity, you've got a better product.

Sure Zune has a few glitches, but some iPods come pre-loaded with viruses.

Ford and Microsoft have this car thing... I dunno too much about it.

iPhones are great. Microsoft will probably try to make a better product.

I have a Zune it's great. Its better than the ipod because its users friendly. I think If Microsoft makes a Zphone it should be better and should have moblie 6.0 or higher. Email outlook 2007 with out a server. and a bigger harddrive. Bigger screen. It should do all the thing's iPhone does but more and better. It's Bill Gates for God sakes. The riches man in the world. Please I ask of all of you make the Zune the new music player of 2007.2008 and all of the world's time. I would just die to just work as a stepping stone for microsoft. I have my on business as a networking guru. I hope if all is true the Zphone will kick ass!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s so sad, having all the technology these days we get amazed by the (iphone), It will be good if Microsoft makes something better like:

a fusion of the psp, iphone and the most important thing, make this device compatible with some car stereos like alpine, so you can answer your phone calls and listen your music with Bluetooth and wii-Fi tech, and the main point is that, games can be downloaded not mini discs. And memory, please don't play with us 8G of memory its ridiculous. Give the same that we pay. 60G it’s reasonable.

If some people think that all this is too much, I think they are too S… by paying $600 for a phone that could be a lot better.

It needs to be WI-FI , it needs to shoot video , it needs messaging , it will work with business, it will be 3 meg , and at least 80 g. , and have security . And a normal answer push . music service , video on demand - rented ,

Iphone ad should say " Zune phone -- more options , Less money monthly , yearly, daily , and NOW.

$299 , bye bye apple Iphone

As usual, Microsoft is copying of the Mac. The seven different versions of the Vista was a very poor copy of the Mac and now the Zphone of the iPhone. I like Microsoft products but to hell with their lack of originality. The image of the ZPhone is a direct copy of the IPhone. I bet a MS Vista will be the running OS on the ZPhone and if not, it will be the Same Vista just renamed. As we all know microsoft is very good at doing. I can't wait to see what crap Microsoft puts out.

I think Apple has finally beginning to catch up with Microsoft. Microsoft has always been a catch-up company, before that was enough and Microsoft was able to remain dominant. Ever since Steve Jobs came back to Apple he has completely turned Apple around. Introducing the UNIX based operating system, the iPod and most recently the Intel Macs. It is great to see companies have seen that to beat Microsoft then you have to become more open.

The iPhone is obviously too expensive and limited at the moment. However, it has the potential to be something great, especially if businesses and consumers start using more open formats rather than ones which tie you in to Microsoft.

At the moment Microsoft still has billions to play with, but they are losing market share in markets that they have dominated for years such as OS's (Mac OS X market share is rapidly growing) and web browsers (FireFox is becoming increasingly popular). Unless Microsoft make some major changes then I don't think in say 10 years or more Microsoft will still be in existence.

This ZunePhone is a pathetic attempt to copy Apple. Times have changed since the 90s, people look for style now, people have more money to spend. They tried with Vista and IE7, but still it just doesn't have that "wow" factor that Apple has always had.

iphone has no competition, it is most remarkable piece of art created to this date by apple Inc. Microsoft are very rushed into launching a product that is expected to have high expectations.
Anyway just see how all of these next generation mobile cope in the market. It will be very interesting to see which will be the best selling product.

So at the moment there is iphone by apple inc, LG prada, Mictrosoft, and also not forgetting google phone. (lol)

I was one of those early adopters when it comes to the Zune. I have been quite pleased with it. It's video abilities far outshine the ipuds and the pure music quality is superb. I'm getting tired of all the winey liberal appleheads who never have anything positive to say about anything but thier own incesteous brand. Why can't people just get along and quit jabbering and blathering about how great thier gadet is! Each product is unique and each product has unique flaws...quit whining about things and just enjoy your product and don't tell me mine is inferior!
