I was put off Vista by the interface changes and DRM problems, but now you've given me new exciting reasons not to upgrade that I'd never have thought of! Thanks.

The laptop's built in mic sounds tinny because it is a piece of turd, not because there is only one. Multiple crappy mics will sound even worse.

"Phantom channels to compensate for speakers you don’t have? Neat-o."

I guess this is new for an operating system to do, but Dolby Pro Logic II has been doing that for at least 5 years. The end result is usually far from true surround sound with distinct channels. I've tried Vista already and I'd say, I'll stick to Windows XP, well actually I'll stick to Mac, but I run XP on Parallels. Vista looks better but it's way too complicated for me. Way to may options.

Ok, I'm ranting now... The point is don't buy into the hype, you will only be disappointed.
Bye

The latency thing is cool too, but I don't think anything is going to have a profound effect on the user experience. I do think file tagging will be a good way to find files though, especially for those of with with like 40gb of music.
