Toasty Ears For Your iPod

Before I moved to NYC from the Midwest, I never had to spend large amounts of time outside during the winter. But the era of jumping from one warm place to another warm place is over. Without a car in the Big Apple, all the extra walking requires that I stay warm and somewhat entertained.

Enter the 180s. These JVC headphone ear warmers are a lifesaver. They don’t pack quite the punch of my Sony Street-Style headphones, but it’s enough that I’d still pay double to own them. The ear warmers also come with volume control, and the audio cable is detachable, so you can wear them separately.

Available at Hammacher Schlemmer, Brookstone and other fine retail outlets.

  • These would be extremely useful. I’m just over the river studying in NJ, but I take a class at NYU three times a week and it would be nice to listen to music. I also have a pair of regular 180’s and they’re awesome for keeping my ears warm.

  • That’s funny. I’m also an NYU grad student commuting in from New Jersey. If you see me wearing those ear warmers on the PATH, don’t be shy to say hello.
