Apple Recommends Against Vista, For Now

If you’re an iTunes PC user, Apple has a simple bit of advice for you: Don’t upgrade to vista yet. The company has cited several compatibility issues that might arise when users attempt to use the popular music player with Windows Vista. Among these problems are issues that would prevent users from playing purchased music or video, synchronizing contacts and calendar, and runtime errors. Perhaps the most daunting problem though is the possibility that plugging an iPod into a Vista machine could cause the DAP to corrupt.
Apple spokesman Derick Mains said, “Although iTunes 7.0.2 may work with Windows Vista on many typical PCs, Apple is aware of some known compatibility issues and recommends that iTunes customers wait to upgrade to Windows Vista until after the next release of iTunes, which will be available in the next few weeks.”
So if you’re on a PC and are for some reason using iTunes (why aren’t you using Foobar?!), and have been eying Vista, you might want to heed Cupertino’s warning and eschew the upgrade for a little longer.

This is nothing but Apple being lazy. They have probably known about these problems since the beta was released and should have had a fix out for it by now. That being said however, I have been running iTunes with Vista for a few days now and I’ve had zero problems with the software or my Ipod.

Boo Hoo. Cries the little windows girls. The early adopters are going to have to wait a few weeks for an iTunes Vista version.
