I just discovered this site, opened a bunch of tabs with articles to read, and on the very first article I begin to smell nonsense.

“OS X’s underlying OS, Darwin, is based on BSD. The BSD kernel is small enough to fit on MP3 players and potentially electronic toothbrushes.”

Windows (up to 98) had an “underlying OS” (which was DOS).
Darwin is not based on BSD. It’s based on a microkernel (MACH kernel) built to resemble a BSD kernel. They are quite different beasts.
The microkernel is, well, “micro” enough to fit “anywhere”. Not sure about BSD kernels though.

Perhaps this all is jokish and just for laughs and then I’m just in the wrong website. But if that was not the original intent, well, someone here could use a clue.

Will there be a terminal/shell on the phone? Or textmate (which Apple should obviously buy and install on every mac, like they did with Rails) (well Rails is free but still)?
