Samsung’s Ultra Slim F700 Says iPhone Who?

I will admit that I’m over the iPhone and all the clones that it’s unleashed upon the world. But Samsung has pulled me back in with the Ultra Slim F700. It may not be the skinniest sister in the bunch but it sure does pack a whole lot more than the rest of the family. This is truly a revolutionary mobile phone and I’d give my arm to see it at 3GSM next week.
The F700 is packed with so many features that I’m shaking as I write this. It boasts a full touch screen AND QWERTY keyboard. Excuse me while I wipe the drool from my keyboard. The touch screen will utilize Samsung’s VibeTonz, which gives the user the sensation that they’re touching buttons when they really aren’t via responsive vibrations. The touch screen UI will be “drag and drop” for easier navigation through it’s expanded multimedia platform. Most controls including volume and screen brightness will be adjusted on the touch screen. But is any of this worth it without fast data transfer?

The Ultra Slim F700 is HSDPA enabled and once it’s up and running at 7.2 Mbps you’ll be downloading songs at about 4.4 seconds per mp3. Like Whoa! The 2.78-inch screen of OMG will showcase all the fancy pictures you’ll be taking on the 5-megapixel camera with autofocus. If there were any mobile phone that I would give an appendage for it would be this one and that is no joke. If you’re going to be at 3GSM next week, pick one up for me because that would be awesome!

Why is it that all the new full touch screen phones are being called iPhone clones? Shouldn’t they be called LG Prada (or KE850) clones? LG’s phone did come out before Apple’s. Isn’t the iPhone a clone of the LG?
And . . . don’t they all just look like any old PDA?

You’re right baltwade but I don’t consider this an iPhone clone at all. I think it’s much better and it will be out on the market much sooner.

Sweet phone. It looks like all the blogs are hyped up on this one. Hopefully it will be less than $500 or so. $250 with a plan would be nice.

Force-feedback touchscreen PLUS HSDPA!!! Actual keyboard?? WHY NO 850!!!! This was the answer to the iPhone I wanted, almost exactly.
I’m gonna go cry about another sweet phone I can’t use.
(is that a front vga cam or just the earpiece?)

iPhone Killer? Give me a break. No Mac OS, no Multi-touch, a slide out separate physical keyboard (old hat, already done long ago), no iPod, no Coverflow, no accelerometer, etc. etc. Another cheap imitation from Samsung. It’s pretty sad when a big phone company like Samsung that’s been in the game for years gets its ass kicked by a new player like Apple. I’ll wait ’til June for the real deal. Prada down, f700 down. Next.

Yawn. Another iClone, but not really up to scratch is it. No Multi-touch, no Mac OS, no accelerometer, no Coverflow, no cool scrool, no wi-fi, etc. etc. A pull out keyboard seems like a trip back in time and has been done. This thing looks like a Transformer toy I used to have. Samdung should call it a day if this is their ‘iPhone Killer”. Reminds me of how they said their Yepp would bury the iPod a while back. Yeah, that happened.

The phone that first replaces the useless QWERTY with the Phraze-It® premium 3 row keyboard for typing with fingers on large, full size buttons directly on the screen will be the one to succeed. With the Phraze-It® full size keys, you can type with your index fingers or hold and thumb with the same hand on the screen. Phraze-It® puts a full computer keyboard on the screen of a PDA phone and also lets you view and edit at least five lines of text.

Too bad Apple took their design cues for the iPhone from LGs KE850. The touch-screens that are coming out are not iPhone clones, the iPhone is the clone with a few major modifications. Pull your heads out and quit worshipping Apple.

U ppl are stupid! Just because it has a “real” keyboard for backwards compatibility (People used to it are still going to want to use it), or just because it doesn’t have some of the extra and only useful for sleekness and cool factor features that the iphone has, you’re willing to condemn this beautiful alternative? Like I said, stupid.
