Though Skype is getting cooler and is still an incredibly useful app, the video quality during conference calls is complete ass. A dude named Jason did some tinkering with Skype and found a way to up the video resolution to a super-sweet 640×480. It requires the latest version of Skype and digging into the config.xml file.

Inside the file, you just edit a few parameters, save it and next time you chat, people will be videoconferencing with you in a much better resolution. If only virtual high-fives were possible, I’d totally give this guy one. Hit the link for instructions/details.
