Rumor round the watercooler is that Gears of War will not stay an Xbox 360 exclusive. Mark Rein of Epic is saying that Gears of War will “eventually come to the PC.”
’Til there’s something else. (chuckles) People ask me, “Are you going to do it [Gears of War] on PC?” Yeah, eventually…I don’t think that’s any great secret that we would like to do it on PC, but for now it’s a 360 game. Eventually we’ll get around to a PC version. I just don’t know when.
That seems like a definite, 100% statement to me. Makes sense since Epic used to be THE PC game company (edit: right behind id and Valve – Blake). Perhaps now PC junkies can get their game on with a decent TPS. Let’s just hope it doesn’t end up like Halo did for the PC.

I bought a Xbox360 just to play GoW, and i friggin hate the game!
First couple of hours swooosches by. i loved the game back then.
Then a mongoloid berzerker jumps through the wall and it is impossible to kill it… When i manages to get outside the berzerker is left back inside.
Ive been stuck here for a month and it is not funny anymore, it has ruined the whole game and the reason i bought a console instead of bying myself a new graphix card for my pc.
Oh btw, i can still not get the hang of handcontrolls, they should add mouse and keyboard so that u can get any gameing feeling in it.
Gears of war is honestly the greatest game i have ever played and its insane to see that its gonna get messed up with it on the pc.

Im just gonna Say that I Own a 360, Gamecube, Playsation and a PC and Games are better suited to consoles coz you dont have to worry bout the Specs required Mainly Graphics card and it some cases Hard drive space Flight SIM 10 15GB!? . But i must admit when games are on PC they tend to look better and well some good mods can be made for them.

PC FPS are generally better graphically, easier to play, try sniping with joy sticks its almost impossible and take a long time to get used to, use a mouse piece of cake. I like consoles tho no upgrading to play what ever games you want. Consoles have a lot great games that are not on computer. But PC games have online play and a lot of good games are free online. Xbox live gotta pay for that. Saying PC games are for losers and vice versa just makes you all look like narrow minded fuck wits. I like Gears of war, Put it on PC it isn’t gonna affect the consoles and wreck the game dicks heads. Look at UT 2004 its epic and uses The UT 2x engine, Gears of war uses UT3. now where was the UT engine made and used on, oh yeah thats rite PC. does that make it better for games? possibly. depends on what you are looking for. If its ease of use then the PC is the worst one to choose…installing, requirements, patches, setting up gamepads if you want to use one etc etc whereas a console, you plug in and play…
also, for the chap that mentioned about MGS for the playstation and PC…the reason it had high requirements for the PC is because the game wasnt built for the PC, it was ported…ports ALWAYS without fail need higher specs as they weren’t programmed to make use of the targets specs.
if the game had come out on PC only, it would have been completely different.
but if you took one game, say an FPS, and built it specifically for the PC, and then had the same team build it from scratch for a console, the PC version would always win without a doubt….theres just way more power to be had..especially with dx10, 8800GTX (and using either 1/2/4 or whatever), then overclocked quad cores, I mean come on, no console can keep up with a PC…and then the next point would be price. If teh PC wasnt inherently more powerful than consoles, then NO-ONE would be paying thousands of pounds on buying and upgrading them…people buy them for a reason…!!!
and then the next argument is…will devs ever do this? the answer is an emphatic NO, as money is always the main focus. So they will build a game, then use the simple option of porting. Law of economics

console games are developed on consoles these days, just the content is made on pc for their ability to have many apps open at once. the power arguement i however don’t agree with, the most powerful GPU on the market right now, the ATI xt/hd2900xtx has a capability of 475 GFLOPS,and lets be honest, who can afford 2 of them?. if you had 2 of them, then you would have 950 GFLOPS, but because of all of the complications on PC, this acts more like 750/800 GFLOPS for 2. the 360 manages 900 GFLOPS on its one chip. then the processor, sure a pc can get 4 cores, but name 5 games which use them all, and the 360 has powerPC cores, known for having insane levels of processing power. and the complicated nature of PCs means that they also lose a lot of power here. and the 360 also has DX10 which has been used on none of its games yet, gears of war did not use it, and ran at 80% capacity on that code, but 60% of potential capacity. on to the online, yes you have to pay for xbox live,, but the best online pc games that run in the same way (centralised, dedicated servers run by the designing company) such as world of warcraft, charge twice as much, each month, for one game, and even then you cant find your friends, unless you use third party software. dont get me wrong, pcs have their good points, but i believe that consoles provide a better experience on the whole.

I am relating on the main topic noted at the top of the page i have no problem with Gears of War coming on PC i think its a brilliant game as i have played it on my mates 360 and it brillaint i am saying i rather pay for a 360 £40 for online connection and the game then spend a least a couple of grand on a pc for get any where near the graphics that the 360 puts out

i have both a pc and an xbox 360 and although my pc is more powerfull i think that the xbox is better value for people who just want to plug and play also games that are released on both xbox and pc tend to be better on pc not because it can have more power but because of the community based mods however due to the growth of xbox live this wii soon be appearing on console aswell unreal being the first game to do so

Yeh consoles r cool used 2 think the graphics were immense. I now have a dream pc with the best graphics so it puts them to shame. I play my pc lots for good graphics fps both online n offline. I also play rpgs like wow…well used to. I got myslef a nintendo wii and find if u aint too narrow minded about graphics u can really enjoy it. It is a real break away from playing normal consoles its jsut fun.
I owen a PS2 xbox 360 n a wii. i neva play nehting but the wii cas i only play when i have m8s round n use the pc for single player games. So they r both good. IF u cant afford a dream pc then a 360 is a good gameplay n graphics expirience so its all good.

Making GoW is going to be a great thing i dont see why everyone is soo pissed??? people who dont have an 360 now they can enjoy GoW then it cross platforms so pc users will be able to play with xbox live users more people equals more fun so people tell me the big deal i love xbox 360 but cant afford paying the subscription for live (id rather play online for free) and people saying you need a dream computer no you dont i can run Lost Planet Full Specs DX 10 with my Geforce 8600 oc and i paid 300 for my pc got 2 gig of ram from new egg for 60 dollars my 8600 for 109 dollars and my pc it self a 300 dollar crappy emachines with a D processor so you dont need a 2k pc or anything like that console and pc are both great, Video games in general are great so whats the big friggin deal??
