Even though 50% is impressive (actually, it is closer to 55%), most of the Western Europe is nearly 80%. Not only that, speeds are much higher and prices much lower. So while this is a great progress for a nation this big, there is still a lot of room for improvement and progress.

I know Europe and Asia have a better percentage than the U.S. in subscribing to broadband. High speed internet providers are in full competition such as http://connect-point-to-point.com to succeed in this era.
