I’m starting a new feature on weekends called Gadget Spotter. Basically, I’m going to put my obsessive TV watching to good use. Every weekend, I’ll post some screen caps of gadgets used in action on various TV shows the previous week. It’s up to you to give me the name of the show, who is using it and the make/model of the device. Some of these will be easy. Others will be hard. And others, well, they’ll be pretty lame, but just bear with me. Post your answers in the comments section. And if you spot anything during the week on TV that might worth posting, please e-mail me at wayne at crunch gear dot com.

the only one i’m gonna comment on is #2 because JP is HORRRENDOUSLY wrong.. Its Halo 1 or 2 i can’t tell from the screen shot and its from Studio 60. possibly the OC.. since i know the main two male characters are gamers..

You’re all wrong about #2.
It’s a Sharp LC32D50U, and they’re playing Halo 2 not 1, you can tell because of the logo on the arm of the spartan soldier. And it’s from this weeks episode of 30 rock when Tracy Jordan was playing Halo 2 against his entourage.

I’m sure that the dedicated 24 watchers are more likely to be right, but I want to say that #5 is the Palm Treo 700p from Sprint, since I’m holding one right now and it is exactly the same. My dad has the 650 from Cingulair and the button layout is different on the 650.
is #4 from smallville? i knew #2 was 30 rock and #6 was the OC, but i can’t figure out #4.

To confirm for number 2 part b, that is definitely Halo 2.
Don’t watch much T.V., but I can verify that the game being played in image 2 is Halo 2. Though I can’t recognize the map for the life of me. Looks like a hybrid between Ivory Tower and Foundation. Very interesting.

Wow… Nobody’s gotten #5 right yet.. Not a 600 or a 650, but a Palm Treo 700p. But you were both right, it is 24.
You guys are good. And yes, #4 is from this week’s episode of “Veronica Mars.” Thank God someone watches it. Thanks for correcting Jack Bauer’s Treo. I knew the 600/650 models didn’t look right.
To be more specific, #2 is Halo 2 on Ivory Tower (note the sloped entry to the overshield ramp).
My knowing this gets me down.
