, Sony has finally done something right in its latest format war-of-attrition.</p>
<p>Now if it can keep the prices of discs down, and get a few other studios on-board, Sony might actually win this one, something it hasn’t done with a format since the Reagan administration.</p>

I just got the Toshiba HD-A2, and for $400 at amazon, it is awesome! As an upconverting player it’s the best I’ve seen, including both new Oppo players. And I watched Ant Bully and Sahara on HD-DVD last night and it was unreal.
I think this unit, if it can be found for $400 online, I’ll just have both, then be future proofed. The worst case on the toshiba that I bought, it was a $400 upconverting player, and regular DVD’s looked awesome. And in the interim I get to enjoy my HD-DVD’s that blockbuster online has.
Ummm, the PS3 is also $600. What am I paying for in this?
I think that its not going to be good as the $1000 blu-ray they have now unless they find way to build it cheaper.
