I’m probably one of the most impatient people alive. For this reason, above all others, I love the microwave. The problem is that microwaved food doesn’t come out nearly as good when heated in an oven.

Fortunately, Black & Decker might have the solution to my dilemma. Its new InfraWave Oven uses 1500-watts of crazy InfraWaves to cook your food to perfection.

It’s available now for the reasonable price of $150.

  • Let’s talk physics a moment.

“InfraWaves” = infrared waves = infrared light = radiated heat, provided in this case by those high-power light bulbs you see keeping food warm in cafeterias.

Props to Black and Decker for coming up with a really fancy word for “heat”. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume it really does get hot faster, but it’s otherwise gonna cook exactly like any other toaster oven.
