Zipper MP3 Player Design Concept

What if instead of just fiddling around with a zipper on our coat, we used it to control the audio we listen to? That seems to be the mindset of designer Eric Liu. His Zipper MP3 player incorporates physical interaction to control the device. When you zipper up, you’ll enjoy your tunes. Zipper down and the device pauses itself. You can also control the volume and sequence of the music by swinging the zipper back and forth.

Included are wireless earbuds, presumably powered by Bluetooth or some other technology. For now it’s just a concept, but if Liu can manage to mass produce these at 1GB for $100, he’ll have himself a decent alternative to the iPod Shuffle.
