hellpp!!!! ok so i have a 80gb ipod video and im on the verge of tears, my ipod is clicking and when i plug it into my laptop it shuts it down completely and restarts it…..then i tryed wacking it and nothing even when i try to restart it holding down the buttons nothing happens and theres nothing in the ipod at all just 3 games….i tryed opening the ipod maunally using the my computer icon but nothing it just shut down my computer again…please im desperate

i have a 8gb nano. it works perfect while its plugged in. Assoon as i unplug it, it shuts off. And it dont come back on unless you plug it back in. any advice???????

Hi.. I dont have any display in my ipod when connected to the USB charger.. nothing happens. Its completed blank…
Have anyone faced same issue ?

My 4G slipped out of my hands and expired after hitting the garage floor.

PLEASE HELP ME.
ok, so i was listening to my ipod (3G nano) last night and fell asleep and the battery completely drained. now it wont charge AT ALL and the only thing that shows is the apple logo and a background that fades from light gray to dark gray. when i try to restart it, it only goes back to the apple logo. can anyone help meeee?

you’re such a great help. I had the same problem like everyone else and I was frustrated because, I’ve been using my ipod almost everyday for a year and few days ago, it just gone dead and I thought, that;s it for my worth of $200 ipod. I actually threw my ipod on our carpeted floor at work, but it did nothing and then I googled if there are any smart people like you who can solve my problem. I did exactly what it said here PRESS MENU + MIDDLE BUTTON for few second and YES INDEED, the screen re-appears. I was all smile for the whole night.. I guess I have to return the ipod touch that i just bought. Thanks very much!

OMG this actually works!!!!!! I’ve been reading fixes all week with no luck and even had it in bits at one point. Hit it a few times and nothing happened then decided to throw it at the floor – now it’s working!!!!!! AMAZING! Wonder if this is what Apple Geniuses do at the back of the store all day?!

You know what – it really did work! Mine was accidentally formatted by my sister (don’t ask how it was an accidental thing!) – anyway it kept whirring and clicking but the screen wouldn’t come on. Three hits on the palm of my hand, one with the back of the ipod onto the edge of the desk, held down Menu and the centre circle button for 30-40 secs and the lot rebooted! Thank you!

OK….i know i’m a little help but i have a ipod emergency…….my ipod nano has been dead for almost a year now from water damage…..but i’ve heard of people being able to bring it back. i’ve tried tapping it and even throwing it at the floor but no luck so far…..please i rly want my ipod…someone help???

i cant believe this! it worked! i smacked my first generation nano off my hand a few times, then Robin bounced it off the carpeted floor in our room and then i smacked it off her daughters basinette, then POW! THANK HEAVENS. also i noticed if its REALLY dead like mine was, then you’ll get the black on black apple, but when it goes away again if you keep holding the menu button but let go of the center button and press it again while still holding the menu button the apple screen will come back. the apple screen may keep flashing but let it go… it works!

I can’t believe this worked so well! Thanks! I smacked my 2004 Mini Titanium on my hands so many times they hurt, but still just a dead screen. So I dropped it onto my home carpet (cushier than office carpet, for sure) from about 18 inches, then from about 48 inches, and held down the center and menu keys together for about 30 seconds and she started up!!!

Man, I’m gonna run around the house and smack a couple other things now, and see how it works!
