Apple TV, it’s looking like your wait might almost (finally) be over. Apple today has released Quicktime 7.1.5 as well as iTunes 7.1, bringing Apple TV compatibility to iTunes. This is a harbinger to the release of the Apple TV, which should now stand at just days away. From the Software Update listing:
You can now enjoy your favorite iTunes movies, TV shows, music, and more from the comfort of your living room with Apple TV. iTunes 7.1 also supports a new full screen Cover Flow and improved sorting options to let you decide how iTunes should sort your favorite artists, albums, and songs.
So there you have it from the source. It’s available now as a roughly 30MB download from Apple’s website for PC users, or via Sofware Update for Macs.

Is that screenshot from the Apple TV? Because I spent the last minute trying to figure out how to make my Cover Flow in iTunes look like that, and it’s not happening.

And where the heck is the Vista support? It’s been more than a month now, Jobsy boy…

I noticed that screenshot was a bit off too. It looks like the original non-itunes cover flow program that Apple bought. The original version let you zoom in or out in your view of the flow–this is the first thing I tried to do with the new itunes full-screen version. I wish I could zoom out to see a wider stack of albums. The current version only show the current album and one album to the left and one to the right.
