Wii Want Our Wii

Wii Line Circa Summer 2006. Now it’s worse.

Love it or hate it, the Wii is the most popular console out right now and Nintendo has some ’splaining to do. The Wii launched last year yet people still have to line up outside Best Buy for hours and sell their kidneys to get this bundle of fun. Kotaku threatens violence while Nintendo America’s Reggie Fils-Aime says:

We work with our retailers to supply them on a regular and ongoing basis. Some retailers make decisions to hold product to support their circulars that typically drop on Sundays. But I’m now looking at a report that says in 93 percent of retail outlets, there are less than three hardware units available. That is a huge issue and something we’re working very hard to fix.

I just leave my number at instocktracker.com and get an SMS when an online store has them available. Makes the process a bunch simpler.

Here in Europe it’s not such a problem - Amazon.de has plenty, and they ship to the UK for the same total price as queuing outside GAME on a cold, wet Thursday morning.

Or you could use itrackr.com

Check out NowInStock.net. I take pride in making my site the faster tracker out as well as the most accurate. ;) In fact, I am working on mobile alerts right now for this coming holiday season, so stay tuned. Also, Reggie Files-Ames just publicly stated in early Sept. 2007 that Nintendo will NOT meet the demand for Wii’s this holiday season… so look out!
